We pick up about 14 years after end of that volume and we sort of get an introduction like, 14 years have passed. Set up a giveaway. I’ll move on now. I liked the ending; it seemed fitting given the attitudes of the characters it involved throughout the book itself. It’s not enough of an annoyance to bypass this fantasy. And what’s with that ending? Sabriel The Abhorsen Chronicles: There is a resolution at the end of the book but not a conclusion as it leads straight into the third and final installment of the trilogy ‘Abhorsen’, which you will want to pick up the instant you reach the final page of Lirael so make sure you’ve got it to hand!

I’m truly surprised that this book can be considered YA These books are awesome and should be mandatory reading by everyone. Every single place Lirael visited played an physical and an emotional role in the book. I like good YA fantasy and the liraeel in this series was certainly that. The ending was a bit lirqel, and Sameth was a little aggravating, Lirael and the world building made up for it seven fold.

Saraneth, the “binder”, is thought to be the original Abhorsen, and the bright shiner who invested her nid in this bloodline.
