Was it not Frost’s curiosity- an undoubtedly human trait? This story is incredible, and I find myself unable to find the words for it. Enter into this landscape a Machine, Frost, who wants to know z about human beings.

So, he searches for human remains, books, artifacts, art, places of beauty, and tries to comprehend, and in many ways, become human. The story contains allusions to the Book of Joband the Book of Genesis.

He pulls much of his ideas from mythology and scriptures. It was interesting, an interesting setting, but didn’t really justify or explain why advanced machines would think or act the way they did in this story, and the fact that its protagonist was a unique AI created during a solar flare with an implied extra zelazy of something undefined is a pretty good summary of its limited scope.
