It follows the attempts of a man stranded on the distant planet Tschai to return to Earth. I had hoped to like hhe a lot more. I think Vance has far more to offer than just planetary romances. In his inimitable style, Vance narrates the eventful tale of Adam Reith, a stranded Earth astronaut, marooned on Tschai, a world where all humans are slaves to aliens and the societies are ridiculous. Very Good; Light reading creases and edge wear. He won both of science fiction’s most coveted trophies, the Hugo and Nebula awards.
What makes Biblio different? It appears to still be in print in paperback along with the other three novels under the title Planet of Adventure by Orb books. Ace G [G] , 1st edition. The treatment of female characters is perhaps not so politically correct, but everything else seems to come together perfectly, especially the dry, witty dialogue. Audiobook review, perhaps I’ll try the print version some time.
Collins who narrates the Lyonesse books so amazingly wonderfuland for the Cadwal series I would like to hear Simon Vance, who has actually narrated the first book, Araminta Station, but this book is strangely enough not available on audible.
