THE BODY FINDER by Kimberly Derting | Kirkus Reviews
Jul 24, Sara Grochowski rated it it dertinf amazing Shelves: Err I’m really not happy. And now that I have read it Violet has been trying to deal with the aftermath of the kidnapping and what she had to do to survive. Violet was one of the reasons I didn’t end up enjoying this book.
I’m definitely buying the sequel! Okay, so when I say he was better than Daemon. She will fight to protect the ones she loves at all costs. I cannot believe that I waited so long to read dertinv
The glimpses we get into the killer’s mind didn’t really do anything for me either. For that I am taking off 1. If I were to compile a list of the times characters in books make ridiculously stupid decisions, Violet Ambrose would fill several slots in the top 40 or so.
It all just seems a little incomplete, as if the author is keeping her options open in case Violet wants to kkmberly at some point in the future. He is my favorite and everyone can go home. Plus, would someone PLEASE tell me when authors, especially female authors, are going to stop with the Stephenie Meyer crap about how abusive men are attractive?
As she gets bolder so do the risks she takes to protect those she loves.
I can’t be the only person on the planet who read up on Jack The Ripper and various other serial killers just because you want to know what makes them tick, what happened to them that led to becoming somebody who craves to torture, to murder, to satisfy their sick needs and dertting do what they do. Her books were published before yours did! Who runs the organisation? I recommend it to everyone! The plot was exciting and tense, but I’d read it before- three times to be precise.
The Body Dertng series has been praised as a “delectable blend of mystery and romance” The Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Booksa “fast-paced, compelling read” ALA Booklistand as “imaginative, convincing, and successful suspense” Kirkus Reviews. One of the girls is even said to be homophobic.
There wasn’t a cliffhanger, but I didn’t feel like the book felt completely wrapped up either. Beyond ordinary, beyond boring and beyond awkward. She is referred to as “shallow and boring” and “just another brainless cheerleader” and given no depth beyond being the obvious bitch stereotype ready to claw Violet’s eyes out to get to Jay. In all honesty though, she did what she had to do and if she hadn’t played “hunter”, things would have turned out differently. Twilight rip-offs are not cool.
The Body Finder Series. Between dealing dwrting her echo, trying to find her place with the team and the members, and maintaining her relationship with Jay, Dead Silence is a eery read that kept me entranced from beginning to end. NO ONE gets picked up for a “hunch” by a high schooler then confesses to murder upon murder when there is no hard evidence yet.
The series is becoming a tad too repetitive for me. Even though she kept saying in the end that Jay was the only one for her, the one she kept thinking about was Rafe or how different Rafe was from others, how secretive Rafe was, how Rafe kept things to himself, how Rafe had a soft side that only she saw Something s I hated: Now, as she works with an eclectic group of individuals—including mysterious and dangerously attractive Rafe—it’s Violet’s job to help those who have been murdered by bringing their killers to justice.
